A very busy Monday

Another very busy but fruitful day here in Guadalajara for the Campus Mexico 2011 Team!!!

We headed to the orphanage as soon as we could this morning eager to get started on the long “to do” list that we knew awaited us! Very quickly, the team was divided into work groups and assigned an area of work to tackle!! Brien and Caleb Smith worked at installing countless electrical fixtures while Nathaniel and Mark laid the plumbing pipes to bring the water to the showers being built!

Helberth and Wes worked outside constructing the walls for the shower stalls.

Paint, paint and more paint for Shinead, Shae-lynn, Elise, Rebecca, Kiera, Chloe and Kechia!

Larry impressed upon our heart the fact that investing in the lives of the orphan boys was as valuable as the physical work that was being done on the orphanage building. Mayra, Sherry, Maria, Hannah, and Caleb Chatterton stepped up to the plate by taking the boys to the park again for games and then back to the orphanage for a Sunday School type program complete with Bible story (Joshua and the walls of Jericho), verse, games and “craft” activity.

All the boys participated with enthusiasm; from the littlest to the oldest!

Caleb sat with Chino to help him learn some English!

Marbi, Cheryl, Laura and Jacob kept the home fires burning by making lunch for the entire team and all the little boys at the orphanage at Larry and Marbi’s house and then bringing it over to the orphanage! It was delicious!!

Tonight the men have headed over to Larry and Marbi’s church to meet with the men’s group called “Hombres de Valor,” which translated means “Men of courage”. Brien will be bringing a devotional on being leaders in the church!

Tomorrow we’re back at the orphanage carrying on with the work! Please keep praying for the water situation! We still have not figured out what the problem is!

  4. Great job Mexico Missions team. Looks like a lot of hard work, alot of fun and some amazing opportunities to minister to others. May everyone's heart, ears, and minds be open to the Lord's will and the testimonies that you will be giving.

Laura and Mayra, I can't wait to hear all of the details when you get back.
